Care for Kids

Everyone deserves to be a kid, even if only for a while. For most of us, being young meant waking up early with ease, playing/learning all day with friends, and an ability to eat whatever we wanted with little consequence. However, for some kids it means waking up in the middle of the night to be sick, struggling to focus in school and missing class, and worst of all losing all your hair at a time when kids can be less than understanding. For some kids, being young means dealing with cancer.

For hundreds of families facing childhood cancer, Camp Wapiyapi means hope, support and even fun. The mission of Wapiyapi is to offer a community of support to families facing childhood cancer.

Camp Wapiyapi provides kids facing cancer a fun and normal camp experience, an experience they would not be able to get at a traditional residential camp. Campers say it's the "best week of the year" as they escape from the hospital and doctor's office to enjoy outdoor adventures, laughing, dancing, singing - and simply being with others who understand.
