Puppies and young, healthy dogs are always the first to get adopted, but Ho-Bo doesn't just rescue the easiest, healthiest dogs.

Five-year-old Pac-Man was found chained up in a backyard after his family moved away without him. Even though he had a big undiagnosed mass on his foot, Ho-Bo had him brought to Colorado. Once in Ho-Bo's care, the mass was found to be malignant. The vet initially tried to remove the mass to save his leg, but couldn't get good margins and his leg wasn't healing, so they eventually were forced to amputate.

As Pac-Man's foster family since his surgery 9 months ago, we've helped him adjust to his new 3-legged life, and have gotten support all along the way from Ho-Bo Care. They've provided supplies, ongoing health care, and even behavioral training since he was never taught house manners or properly socialized with other dogs. Now, Pac-Man is healthy and happy, and knows how to be part of a family and live with other dogs (and even cats). His chances for adoption are so much better, all due to Ho-Bo's commitment to him.

Please consider contributing this year during Colorado Gives Day to help Ho-Bo continue its work. Ho-Bo is a 100% volunteer organization, so every dollar spent goes directly to caring for pups like Pac-Man.
