Voices for Children, CASA of Boulder County

A nonprofit organization

On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, Colorado comes together for one day of extraordinary generosity. Colorado Gives Day is your chance to ensure every child in Boulder County has the advocacy they deserve.

The Power of One Advocate

When a child enters the welfare system, they are surrounded by strangers making decisions about their future. A CASA volunteer is different. They are a steady, trusted adult who listens, advocates, and ensures the child’s voice is heard.

  • CASA advocacy reduces time in foster care by 8 months, saving children from instability and saving taxpayers millions
  • In Boulder County, 100% of referred children are appointed a CASA, but this promise is at risk without your support
  • Each year, CASA volunteers help improve school stability, provide health recommendations, and support early interventions that change the trajectory of children’s lives

Why Your Support Matters

This year, Voices for Children faces a significant funding gap. Cuts to federal support mean that without stronger community support our ability to serve 100% of the children involved in Dependency and Neglect Cases is challenged. But together, we can change that.

When you give on Colorado Gives Day, you’re not just donating, you’re creating A Holiday of Hope.

  • Your gift helps a child spend less time in foster care.
  • Your support ensures judges have the information they need to make the best decisions for children.
  • Your generosity brings stability, advocacy, and hope into a child’s life when they need it most.

Our Goal: Raise $40,000 in one day to fund advocacy for children who cannot wait.

Mission

Voices for Children, CASA of Boulder County builds a healthier community by delivering services, support, and advocacy to children who have experienced trauma.

Background Statement

Voices for Children (VFC) was established in 1985 as part of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) movement, which emerged in the late 1970s to provide best-interest advocacy for abused and neglected children. For 37 years, BVFC has remained dedicated to providing Boulder County’s most vulnerable children with CASA volunteers who ensure their needs are met as they navigate the child welfare system. Our goal is to ensure that every child in Boulder County has a safe and permanent home where they can thrive. In 2024, this equated to 276 children supported by 192 CASA volunteers, as some CASAs advocate for sibling groups.
