We are a premiere children's choir for treble singers from 2nd through 12th grades. These singers are placed into one our five choirs based on their age as well as skill level. Our mission is to achieve excellence in children's choral music through education and performance.
We are creating a two track system for the members of our choirs. Track one is: Academy and will continue to provide instruction and experiences similar to what we have done in the past. Track two is: Conservatory and we will incorporate the highly rated Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum in vocal and theory assessment. Students who enter this track will take the international assessment and upon successful completion will receive international certification in Levels 1 - 8.
We also have a music class for Kindergarten and First Grade children - FirstVoices. We teach the children using Kodaly methodology. We offer one 12-week session per semester.
We offer singers:
- Age appropriate vocal training
- Music reading
- Extraordinary performances
- Focus on the whole child
- Balance with other commitments
- Weekly rehearsals
-We are repeatedly asked to collaborate with music organizations from all over Colorado. Young Voices has be invited, through an auditioned process to sing for several state, regional, national and international choral conferences, festivals and competitions.

SpringSing
This popular collaboration with elementary schools from Arapahoe and Douglas County is a day-long workshop for 4th and 5th graders. Music teachers bring students who would benefit from this special choral workshop to the Young Voices Studios or a local school for a day of singing, learning and having fun. We culminate the day with a short concert for the parents.
Arapahoe County - Elementary School Collaborations
We reach out to elementary school music teachers in Arapahoe County to find out what YVC can do for them. In the past we have gone to the school's music classes to help prepare for a special program, or met with the music teacher to help select appropriate music for their school choir, or have helped set up a successful feeder school area honor choir.
Saturday Day Camps for Arapahoe and Douglas County Elementary Children
We are providing 2 Saturday Day Camps for area children who have a special interest in singing. We sing together, work on some music reading skills, play music games, and get to know other's who love to sing.
WinterSong
We collaborate with Westminster School District to provide a day-long workshop for 4-5th graders in our elementary school workshop and 6-8th graders in our middle school workshop. Music teachers from Westminster School District bring students who would benefit from this special choral workshop to Westminster High School for a day of singing, learning and having fun. We culminate the day with a short concert for the parents.
PrairieVoices
This popular, intensive weekend honor choir serves 4th - 6th graders in Adams County area who love singing and who are recommended by their school music teachers. The honor choir is a way to get more children involved in musical opportunities within their schools and communities and to instill a passion for choral singing. 100 elementary school singers come together at a local high school in the given county and learn about proper singing technique as they rehearse together in preparation for an evening performance.
Scholarships
Young Voices enriches at risk and underserved children and Title 1 schools by providing full or partial scholarships. This season we afforded almost 40 scholarships totaling approximately $20,000.
School Tours
Our annual spring school tours are free. Each of our choirs performs every April at public and private schools, predominantly in Arapahoe County and Douglas County, ultimately serving around 4,000 children. Our choristers share their love of singing with peers and inspire them to participate in their own school music programs. Our directors often conduct workshops during tours.
Teacher Workshops
We conduct accredited music teacher workshops, taught by nationally eminent clinicians like Henry Leck and Doctors Catherine Sailer and Judith Willoughby, for elementary and middle school music teachers and college students training to become music teachers. We offer free master classes every summer during SAMH. In January our directors taught several classes, concentrating on elementary-aged singers and using our singers as demonstration choirs, at annual conferences of the ACDA and CMEA.
Many of the students who participate in an outreach program workshop return the next year for a similar, but different experience. We also have singers who after participating in a workshop join our traditional program because they enjoyed the workshop so much.
