The Yampa River Botanic Park is a "place of serenity, celebrating the trees, shrubs, plants and birds of the Yampa Valley." The Park welcomes visitors from all over the world to view and learn about plants in the Yampa River basin, beginning in the Flattop Wilderness area at 12,000 feet to the confluence of the Green and Yampa Rivers at 4,000 feet.
Being a public city park, open from May thru October, with free admission, the Park is a venue for Strings Music Festival, Piknik Theatre, weddings, Children's Story Hour, yoga and other events. Tours of the Park are given twice a week, during which staff and volunteers discuss the Park's establishment, as well as the various gardens and resident ospreys. People treasure the Park, not only for its peacefulness and beauty, but to learn of landscape designs, plant selections, and garden microclimates. Approximately 30,000 visitors came to the Park last year, and it is one of the most visited spots in Steamboat Springs.
The YRBP takes no tax dollars, and its sustainability depends on memberships, donations and garden sponsorships. Your donation is greatly appreciated and helps to keep the Park growing!!
