Network Graph Examples

Example 1: The donor from Kiowa county gave to nonprofits in Denver and Jefferson counties as demonstrated by the orange arrows going from Kiowa to those counties when Kiowa is hovered over.
 

Example 2: Donors from Prowers county gave to nonprofits in Denver and Arapahoe counties. This is evident because lines are displayed between Prowers and those two counties when Prowers is hovered over. In this case, we can also see that not only did donors from Prowers county give to nonprofits in Arapahoe county, but that donors from Arapahoe county also donated to nonprofits in Prowers county.

Network Graph Details  

• Each donor Colorado county is a node. The size of the node reflects the number of nonprofit counties that donors from that node donated to. 
• Line length is weighted by dollar amount donated. Multiple relationships between two nodes are summed into a thicker line.
• Choose how many nodes to show (Google Fusion Tables applies an algorithm that adds and removes nodes according to their importance which is based on number of links to a node).

 

2017 Donation Info by Nonprofit Colorado County

• Total number of participating nonprofits was 2,411 (9.2% increase from 2016)
• Number of nonprofits to receive a donation was 2,351 (9.7% increase from 2016)
• Average raised per nonprofit was $20,371
• 98% of nonprofits received a donation

• Nonprofits that primarily classified themselves as focused on Human Services raised the most money ($11,527,186) and had the most donations (48,771).

• Nonprofits with total annual revenue under $1 million raised 35% ($17,294,447) of the dollars through ColoradoGives in 2017.
