Annual Giving Campaign

Hello family and friends!

I hope you will join me in supporting the YMCA this year! I recently joined the board of the Schlessman YMCA and have been overwhelmed by the amount of good that I have seen in the past few months, thanks to the Y. The Y is such a wonderful organization that is close to my family's heart, as my father in law has worked for the Y for over 30 years! I don't know if many of you know, as I didn't before my time on the board, that the Y does not turn anyone away due to inability to pay. How incredible is that?! That means that no child, senior, single parent, or person in need will ever be told no at the Y. However this is only possible due to people like you and our fundraising efforts!

The effects of the Y are widespread and touch so many people in the Denver metro area. The YMCA of Metro Denver is the largest youth and family agency in the Denver area, serving 52,000 children, families and seniors every year. In 2016 the Y provided financial assistance to more than 4,200 individuals and families, ensuring that all in our community have access to safe spaces for their children to grow and thrive, and a place to find healthy support and community, regardless of the challenges they face. There is no amount too small to make a difference!

Thank you for your consideration and don't forget that donations to the Y are eligible for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit, which means a 50% tax credit! As a result, half of your donation to the Denver Y is offset by a reduction on your Colorado income taxes! However you must designate this in writing, it will not be applied automatically. Also, please don't forget that MANY companies will also match any employee donations, so make sure to ask your company if they participate!
