Testimonials

As a family we feel so blessed to be a part of Wellspring and know that Brennan is a part of a very unique and special community. We no longer fear for his future. We feel confident that Wellspring will walk beside us as we continue down the path of Brennan's life and that he will always be cared for, loved and honored.

The best part of working at The Collective is the easy-going nature of things and the comradery and the rapport between various volunteers and coworkers. This is allowing me to pay for things I would not otherwise be able to afford and has given me extra spending money.

-Carl

We know how blessed we are that our daughter has a place to go each day that she looks forward to, where she can see her friends, and feel safe while growing in skills, and confidence and building great memories with friends and staff!  She beams brightly with joy and confidence as I drop her and pick her up each day that she attends her community, this is a joy we celebrate.

Mission

To provide educational, enrichment and business enterprise opportunities to adults with I/DD such that they are empowered to live full, productive, and satisfying lives in a God-centered and spiritually nourishing environment.

Background Statement

Wellspring Community was founded in 2008 by a mother who sought an abundant life for her daughter with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). She and her daughter started baking in her kitchen with a few friends.

Today, Wellspring Community continues to bake and also provides vibrant day programming, transportation services, and adaptive work opportunities to 140 adults with I/DD from 6 counties: Douglas, Elbert, El Paso, Arapaho, Jefferson, and Garfield (online program only).

The next big venture for Wellspring is to expand our services to include residential care and housing called Unity on Park. This will be an intentional community, where individuals with disabilities will live alongside individuals who are nondisabled. The goal is to empower adults with I/DD to live independently, yet with the support of staff who are available 24/7.

To take this next step and expand our services to include residential care, we need your help. A big part of the magic of Wellspring is the enthusiastic support of our donors, which affords us extra horsepower that other providers cannot touch. We project that residential services will cost approximately $213,000 to provide in 2024 alone. A gift of $161.36 will provide two days of residential services for one resident.

We believe that our communities are enriched when people of all abilities can live, work, and thrive together. There is a reason “community” is in our name; it’s what we are building. A true community that includes everyone.
