Testimonials

To: True Impact Uganda

My name is Mukalunyanje Immaculate.
It is a great pleasure to write this letter to appreciate True Impact Uganda.
I joined True Impact in 2015 when I was in primary five. Before joining True Impact, my grandmother paid some of my school fees and the other was paid by the ministry which was Kids Uganda, but when my sponsor died, that is when I joined True Impact.
After joining it, I have got a lot in my life - like I have joined good schools like Maranatha Primary School where I completed my primary level from then I joined Maranatha Vocational High School where I studied my Senior One and after I joined one of the big schools in Mityana Uganda that is Royal Giant High School where I am now studying and for the goodness of True Impact they provide me with everything for school in time and the school fees and the requirements are paid in time so that I am not chased home for school fees and the requirements am so thankful for that.
True Impact Uganda provide me with better education by putting me in schools with better education.
Me in my life I have no real parents. They all died, but I have a mother who adopted me and loved me as her daughter. With her support and the advice plus the love, I have got happiness in my life.
In my free time I enjoy music and playing netball and about the school subjects, I love English and History most.
I am so thankful for whatever True Impact provide to me because by now I would be out of school but because of True Impact I am still in studying.
I thank God for the good heart he gave to True Impact members for the love and care they give to me. I thank so much for that and they are like my family members.
May God Bless True Impact Uganda

Background Statement

In 1999, Andy Stewart went with a team of 6 other men from his church on a short term mission trip to Mityana, Uganda. The team helped build the original primary school building for Maranatha Schools. Andy instantly developed a love for Africa and a passion to help the people there. It was on this trip that Andy began to build a relationship with Patrick and Eva Walusimbi, the directors of Maranatha. Fast forward to 2004. Andy and his wife, Susie, were speaking with Patrick Walusimbi about his vision to expand Maranatha. He had recently opened a new school in the remote fishing village of Nkonya. The 25 or so children there were meeting for class under a tree as they had no school building. Andy and Susie decided to do something about it.

With their Christmas cards to family and friends later that year, they sent a letter explaining the need in Nkonya and requesting donations. Over $25,000 was donated and the first building project became a reality. In March 2005, the Stewarts organized a team of 9 men, women and children to go to Nkonya and help build the 3,250 square foot classroom building, pit latrine and rainwater collection system.

Many projects have followed. The True Impact teams have built kitchens, latrines, water projects (wells and rainwater collection systems), teacher’s housing and student dormitories. After building a dormitory for the Salem Children’s Centre in Naama, the Stewarts were led to develop a child sponsorship program and form True Impact Ministries as an official 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2011. True Impact currently has over 250 children in their child sponsorship program.
