At The Reentry Initiative, we believe in second chances. We believe that incarceration doesn't have to be a life sentence. We believe that with the proper support, individuals can return to restored lives in society. Your support makes second chances a reality.
From Class Participant: Why TRI? Because we need organizations like TRI to help us reintegrate back into society. We don't have enough programs to help us. This class is important to us because it shows us how to change our criminal behaviors and our way of thinking. It helps us to be better people. This class is important because we will be getting out and we will be someone's neighbor someday and having the tools this class teaches us will make us the kind of neighbor a person wants to have.
From Longmont Parole: Our partnership is important because we can't serve the parole and homeless population alone. The resources for parolees, especially females, is very limited. TRI offers resources and assistance to those who need a hand-up not a hand-out. A lot of organizations are not willing to assist anyone with a criminal history. TRI is willing to offer a second chance to those who need it most. Because of TRI we have more resources available to us in our community.
To provide comprehensive services inside and outside of prison walls that empower adults to achieve fulfilling and crime-free lives in their communities.
The Reentry Initiative (TRI) was founded in 2016 to serve people whom society has stigmatized, feared, and blocked from a real second chance. The vast majority of people who are incarcerated have experienced significant adverse childhood experiences that have shaped their mental and emotional development. This can result in maladaptive coping that can end in criminal justice involvement.
Taking a whole person approach, TRI supports adults with basic needs, employment, education, and housing assistance. We also offer integrated wellness programs to address trauma, addiction, and recovery to help members stabilize over time in their communities.
As of 2023, TRI is accepting clients on probation, to preventatively address further involvement in the criminal justice system.
