Background Statement

Teach For America (TFA) was founded nationally in 1990 and in Colorado in 2007. Over the past 16 years, TFA Colorado’s program has provided an essential talent pipeline of excellent teachers and school leaders to the state, led to the creation of dozens of quality school options, and led to improved student achievement outcomes in the schools and districts where we work. This year, nearly 2,000 TFA leaders are reaching an estimated 36,000 students across the state every day.
