The Summit Historical Society

Keep Summit County, Colorado history alive! The Summit Historical Society (The Society) was established in 1966 and is dedicated to the discovery, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of the rich heritage and history of Summit County. The Society has been active in gathering information about the natural landscape, the human settlement patterns, and economic development of the area.

Bob was hired in Feb 2017 as the new office manager. He has a background in non profit office management.

Christy Nelson, Education Administrator
Start Date: 2014

Ms. Nelson has been the sole administrator for the Society and for the Schoolhouse/Museum for the past several years. She has a background in elementary education having taught both in Colorado and abroad. She was a corporate trainer for Motorola and delivered classes in history and culture at the Corporate Museum. Future goals are to develop educational programming with the Museum Administrator for the Schoolhouse.
