Mission Statement

The prevention of local pet overpopulation through spay/neuter awareness and funding. And, to provide assistance with veterinary expenses to low-income residents of Summit County.

Organization History

In 1990, then Summit County Animal Shelter Manager Nancy Ring decided that Summit County, CO needed a non-profit devoted to the welfare of pets. She wanted to promote the spaying and neutering of pets, but also wanted to be able to help people who could not afford their veterinary bills. For over 28 years L.A.P.S. has helped thousands of pets in our community.
