Testimonials

In 2015, we began offering financial support to breast cancer survivors through our Survivor Assistance Program (SAP). "As the chair of the Survivor Assistance Program, it is great knowing that a percentage of funds raised will relieve the financial burdens that some of our clients experience," states Judy Biegler. This program assists survivors with non-medical expenses such as housing, utilities, food, and other financial needs once their treatment ends.

One of our long-term volunteers and a former model, Katie Shaw states, "Throughout my breast cancer journey, Sue Miller Day of Caring, has restored my confidence and provided me with a wealth of support and education."

Mission

The mission of the Day of Caring is to inform, empower and give hope to those affected by breast cancer.

Background Statement

Thirty-three years ago, Sue Miller a former fashion model and breast cancer survivor realized the need for a community support group for women who had been diagnosed. Through Sue's vision the Day of Caring was born which originally was an annual luncheon that featured a fashion show with all breast cancer survivors serving as the models.

As the years went by, the Day of Caring changed to provide education and awareness seminars to those that were interested, and for those affected by breast cancer. The seminars paired with our luncheon and fashion show grew to become a conference with 1,500 participants in the 2006. The event provides the MOST comprehensive and inspiring one-day breast cancer conference available, encompassing program seminars, exhibitors, and a fashion show to benefit any and all people touched by breast cancer.
