Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley brings people together to build homes, community and hope.
Habitat offers "a hand up, not a handout." Home applicants complete a rigorous selection process based on need, willingness to participate and partner in programs, and the ability to repay an affordable mortgage. Selected families must complete training programs that teach self-reliance for basic human services, work up to 500 hours of "sweat equity" toward the construction of a home, and repay the cost of their home to the affiliate through low cost monthly mortgage payments. Habitat homeowner mortgage payments support the construction of future homes in our community. In addition to local building, HFHSVV sponsors home building globally through its tithe program. Currently, HFHSVV tithes in partnership with Habitat for Humanity in Nepal, Armenia, Lesotho and Paraguay.
