Lech Usinowicz, Executive Director
Start Date: 2013

Lech Usinowicz, Executive Director/Founder of BFF (October 2013), graduated with honors in music education and music business from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, has taught elementary music for 7 years, plus 2 years as middle school and high school orchestra director for Bayfield Schools. He completed all three levels of Orff-Schulwerk certification in June 2011. Lech is a bassist in the San Juan Symphony, assisted in merging the Durango Youth Symphony and San Juan Youth Symphony, and was named Artistic Director of the San Juan Youth Symphony Orchestra in August 2016. He co-founded (2011) and serves as Academic Director for the Durango Chamber Music Academy. Ensembles under his direction have won numerous (17 and counting) gold medals at Elitch Garden's music festivals from 2011 to present.

Brandy Luzietti, Office Manager
Start Date: 2013

Brandy Luzietti, Office Manager (volunteer since 2013; part time since 2017), is a mom of three amazing kids, all part of Be FRANK programs. The fear that a good educator would burn out motivated her to begin volunteering with the after school music program in 2012. When Be Frank was formed, she became the volunteer office manager and events/trips organizer. She became Secretary of the Be FRANK Board in 2015. She is organized, knowledgeable re: QuickBooks, and has great customer relations skills. Brandy has a passion for music and music education that motivates her and her family to serve/participate in a variety of capacities for the students/programs of the Be Frank Foundation, and the youth program at Pine Valley Church.

Jenna Calderwood, Bookkeeper
Start Date: 2017

Jenna Calderwood, Bookkeeper, has 15+ years of experience in reporting and data analytics in the healthcare industry, including finance, accounting and actuarial arenas. She brings advanced knowledge in use of statistical and reporting software, coding, and developing business models and projects from initial design phase through testing and implementation. Jenna graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Statistics, University of New Mexico.

Karl Herr, Associate Executive Director
Start Date: 2016

Karl Herr, BFF Board member since January 2016 and Associate Director since October 2016, retired after 34 years in public education, including 21 years as a school administrator, four as Personnel Director, and nine as a teacher. His duties including proposal, grant, and newsletter writing in addition to various administrative tasks. He has worked predominantly with minority populations, mostly on/near the Navajo Nation. An amateur musician and songwriter, he has been part of several Americana bands over the the last 20 years.
