A number of years ago, a member of the board of a Repertory Theater in Trinidad stepped down from the board out of frustration. This individual felt that there had to be a better way to finance the performing arts. This individual knew that the only thing preventing Trinidad from becoming a tourist draw was to have a outstanding performing arts program. So he started a quest to find out how others organization coped with this problem.. What he found was that there was a a common solution, a common denominator. It was money, in the form of an endowment. So in 2016 the Southern Colorado Endowment for the Performing Arts (SCEPA) was established. Two homes were donated with some cash, this was followed by a Charitable Leads Trust and a bequest from a wealthy donor who passed away. This is how we started, help us continue to grow, push our button.
