Silver Key's Senior Assistance program involves Case Management, Senior Housing Navigation, Guardianship, Veteran Companion assistance, the SOS "Senior Outreach Services" Behavioral and Mental Health program, Calls of Reassurance, and the Client Choice Food Pantry. Over 1,200 senior clients, age 60+, are assisted annually with benefit forms, insurance, housing rental agreements, emergency rental and utility payment assistance, connections for free or low-cost hearing aids and glasses, essential food supplies and much ore.
Silver Key's clients report a 96% satisfaction rating of all services received through our Senior Assistance program. 86% of our clients report their lives have improved, thanks to help from Silver Key. The testimonials we receive from clients and their family members underscore the critical need for the wide range of services our Case Managers provide.

Silver Key launched our new Active Living Center in 2019, thanks to grant funding received from the NextFifty Initiative. This is an exciting new hub of senior learning, creating and engaging, where programs and activities connect mind, body and soul. This is also an active training resource for Volunteers to gather and gain new skills to help Silver Key and other nonprofits throughout the Pikes Peak region!
In its first year at Silver Key, the Active Living Center has already engaged a few dozen older adults expand their horizons and learn new activities to share with others. The programs are expanding in number and in depth, and will soon be complimented with collaborative-style training programs in partnership with the Pikes Peak Library District and others.
Silver Key's Transportation Department provides door-through-door ADA accessible transportation for medical appointments, shopping, congregate meals, social activities, recreation trips, and more. Recurring daily, weekly, or monthly rides can be scheduled upon request.
Silver Key's Transportation fleet provides over 44,000 rides to 1,450 senior clients, totaling nearly 475,000 miles annually. The testimonials we receive on a regular basis underscore our customer satisfaction survey data: rides from Silver Key are making significant life-changing improvements for thousands of seniors who have no other access to the essentials they need to live and thrive independently. Our paid and volunteer drivers are all trained to provide excellence in customer care and physical aid to our Transportation clients.
Food, Agriculture & Nutrition
Silver Key's comprehensive Nutrition Services consists of 13 Connections Cafe social meals programs at 13 locations throughout Colorado Springs, serving more than 750 aging adults 60+ on average per day.
Our Home Deliver Meals and Meals on Wheels programs provide home-delivered, hot, nutritious meal and companionship services for homebound seniors. Sliding scale payments based on income are available for those with limited means. Silver Key's Food Pantry is one of the largest and most accessible "client choice" pantries in the Pikes Peak region, serving more than 1200 Food Pantry clients monthly, providing essential nutrition to seniors facing food access barriers, including those who do not qualify for government programs.
Silver Key's Nutrition Program is one of the three core services we provide to aging adults residing in El Paso County. The demand for these services is continually increasing, evidenced by steadily increasing numbers of seniors accessing these programs and our Food Pantry.
