PHASED APPROACH!

Update posted 1 year ago

We are working on phases to improve our playground.  Every $15,000 raised will help us get to our next goal!

Visit our Webpage at http://www.sheltonptsa.org/playground-improvement-project.html
Shelton Elementary's Health and Wellness group along with Shelton PTSA has formed a playground improvement committee with the goal to create a physically accessible and inclusive playground for the Golden community that any individual can access regardless of ability. The improved playground would promote outdoor learning, creativity, inclusivity, health, and wellness.
Our playground was designed in 2004 and is not currently accessible to wheelchair users and individuals with limited fine and gross motor skills. The playground equipment is located in a graveled area and has equipment that does not promote safe and engaging play. Our plan to resolve this is to redo the base of the playground so that wheelchairs and strollers are able to access equipment without getting stuck. We will collaborate with students, staff and community members to create a space that engages and inspires all users and promotes safe play.
We need the support of the community in construction, design, funding, and time to make this possible. Every $15,000 will help unlock up to 40% funding by the Jeffco Public School District and will help a phased installation of new playground equipment! We have already raised over $15,000 through the Shelton Elementary PTSA!
