Mission
September School, serving 7-12th graders, is an intimate and supportive community that fosters individual development and reawakens the love of learning. We empower our students to be critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and responsible citizens.
Background Statement
Since 1973, September School has thrived as Boulder's longest running independent high school. Founded by a group of parents and educators who believed that kids learn better in community, we remain the only relationship based school in Boulder. Students are at the heart of our program and September School has been successful in large part because of our energetic, committed teachers, who have inspired hundreds of students. As a nonprofit, September School also remains one of the most affordable independent schools in the Boulder and Denver area, and is committed to remaining accessible through financial aid.
We love teenagers and we believe they are wired to learn. At September School ALL students are welcomed, seen, and celebrated.
