In 2021, SVH opened a new state of the art hospital with expanded health services including a new surgical suite and specialty clinics. We are raising funds for new medical equipment to help attract specialty medical providers to Lake County and provide better care for our rural community.
St. Vincent Hospital Foundation promotes access to quality health care through outreach, service and development by supporting the programs and services of St. Vincent Health.
St. Vincent General Hospital District has a rich tradition going back over 135 years when nuns from the Sisters of Charity-Leavenworth, KS came to Leadville in 1879. Leadville, then a booming mining town, was in desperate need of a hospital and the Sisters of Charity came to answer the call. From 1879 until the present, St. Vincent Hospital has served the area, meeting the health care needs of its citizens with the same commitment found in the Sisters of Charity. St. Vincent Hospital Foundation was incorporated in 2003.
