The total immersion program where participants can bond with people who have had similar experiences will make a tremendous impact on the lives of the veterans far into the future.

Evidence of Program's Success

Adaptive Recreation has both physical and cognitive benefits. The injured veterans who participate in our programs report increased confidence, joy, socialization and independence. Often having a disability can be an isolating experience. Through participating in our STARS and Stripes Camps, injured veterans bond in the shared experience of learning and participating in a recreational sport.

"STARS helped me have the most epic couple days on a snowboard since losing my eyesight for sure! The whole crew at STARS welcomed me with open arms and helped continue to build my confidence on and off the mountain. I'm finally happy again with hopes to progress V.I. Description

STARS serves youth and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities, injured veterans, cancer survivors and their families. Staff and Volunteers provide instruction to help each individual reach their highest potential. We also offer programs that are inclusive to encourage
family and friends to recreate together. Our group programs and camps help to increase opportunities for social interaction with other
clients that face similar challenges in life. These camps and programs help to heal not just the client but families as well as they find
activities where they can participate as a family together. Through our programs, participants often increase self-confidence, independence, and physical strength all while having a whole lot of fun!
We serve individuals, students, and specific groups/associations that serve people with disabilities.
