Some nonprofits in our community
  • Valley Humane League
Many San Luis Valley animals would have a perilous existence and future were it not for the presence of Valley Humane League. Operating on a tiny budget and with no full-time staff, its impact on a variety of dogs (pregnant moms, puppies, strays, etc) in the Alamosa and greater area is enormous.
  • San Luis Valley Ecosystem Council
The San Luis Valley Ecosystem Council is a Public Lands Advocacy Organization located in south-central Colorado at the headwaters of the Rio Grande, surrounded by some of the wildest lands that are left in the lower 48 states. We provide public comment to provide landscape level protection (wildlife corridors, watersheds, biodiversity) on behalf of the American Public.
  • Children's Garden Early Learning Center
At the Children's Garden we believe early child learning is an investment in our children and our future! We serve children from all over the San Luis Valley and from all economic backgrounds. About 90% of our students come from low income families and with your help they are able to thrive and excel not only in school but in their lives. Donations of $100 or more may be eligible for the State of Colorado Education Tax Credit (50%).
  • San Luis Valley Habitat for Humanity
Building Houses~Building Hope We work with low-income households building simple, decent affordable homes. Habitat Homes are constructed with volunteers and sold with no-profit, 0% interest mortgages. Monies received from mortgage payments are the "Fund for Humanity" to build the next Habitat Home.

Give where you live.
