Located in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, RedLine Contemporary Art Center fosters education and engagement between artists and communities to create positive social change.
Exhibitions
Every year, RedLine hosts exhibitions within a social justice-focused Exhibition Program.
Our 2022-2023 Exhibition Program is titled Roots Radical: An Exploration into Indigenous Ancestry and Experience.
Roots Radical explores the dislocation of Indigenous identities from Indigenous persons, and how perceptions of Indigeneity are often formed by dominant or white-supremacist narratives and/or perceptions vs. the realities and experiences of thriving, living cultures.
Roots Radical supports Native-led organizations and artists, and the deeper exploration of our communities’ collective ancestry and Indigenous histories.
Artist Residency Program
As RedLine's foundational program, our Artist Residency remains at the core of all we do as an organization.
We offer 2-year residencies for 15-18 emerging, contemporary artists in Colorado.
All Artist Residents and Resource Artists receive fully subsidized studio spaces to provide financial flexibility, giving residents the freedom to explore and experiment without commercial constraints.
They also receive mentorship, career development, and promotion during their time as Resident Artists.
The RedLine Artist Residency also allows artists to work in proximity to their peers and within a community of mutual support that fosters networking and collaboration.
Art Education & Community Programs
At RedLine, the focus of our art education and community programs is all about depth rather than breadth.
Our Reach Program offers long-term professional opportunities for artists who may be in recovery, unhoused, or experiencing severe financial hardship.
Our Youth Art Mentoring and EPIC Arts programs encourage young artists in local schools to use art as their voice — and to speak about the issues affecting their communities and their lives.
Artist Grants at RedLine
RedLine works in collaboration with independent funders, members of the philanthropic sector, local government, and other community stakeholders to support a diverse range of ground-breaking grant projects for Colorado artists and creatives.
Depending on the specific program, RedLine manages different facets of grant administration. This can include managing the application process, as well as reviewing paperwork, plans, budgets, and more.

Founded in 2008, RedLine was created to support emerging artists, and provide creative opportunities for local residents. RedLine serves as an incubator for a thriving group of resident artists, through an in-depth, two-year residency program that includes free studio space, community engagement opportunities, and professional development.
