Our mission is to make it ridiculously easy to find a sense of purpose and create meaningful connections through volunteering. We do this by hosting over 700 annual volunteer experiences, providing an online community called KyndHub, and delivering volunteer projects called Kynd Kits.
During COVID, we have tweaked our delivery to include both safe, in-person volunteer experiences, and at home volunteering. We host virtual volunteering events, send volunteer projects in a box to your home, and host small in person gatherings.
Project Helping was founded in April of 2014.
In the last 6 years, we have hosted 2,356 volunteer events, had 5,689 volunteers show up, shipped over 25,000 Kynd Kits, and impacted over 250,000 people.
The biggest issue we face is continuing to grow to meet the demand for our programming. We have a waitlist for almost every event we host and need to continue to scale our programming to impact more people! Kynd Kits are being built and shipped so fast we can hardly keep up, and virtual company events are becoming bigger and bigger. All incredible challenges to have that we are so grateful for- but we need your help to continue to grow!
Project Helping is helping me become the person I always wanted to be.
I love being involved with Project Helping. Volunteering and giving back to my community taps into a well of joy within me that I did not know existed. I am so thankful to the project for bringing me out of my darkness and into a group of amazing people. It feels amazing to give back to those in need, and I am lucky to reap the added benefit of how it makes me feel in return.
Volunteering with Project Helping was an experience that has truly changed my life. Being someone who usually sends donations I never got to truly appreciate the feeling that volunteering your time and efforts for other people can give you. Depression being something that runs in my family it has been a great experience to be able to spend time with others that share the same struggles, and that depression really isn't an uphill battle that you have to face alone.
