Timely communication between our school and our families is an important tool for enhancing our children's educational experience and safety. Our outdoor marquee is an excellent tool for communicating; however due to its current condition, it poses both timeliness and safety issues. To change the information on the sign requires each individual letter/number card to be slid in from the side, a very time consuming process. This makes it difficult to keep the sign up-to-date. Additionally, there was a wasp infestation this past summer, and despite multiple attempts to remove the wasps, they continued to return making it unsafe to change the sign until colder weather arrived.
Pioneer Elementary PTO is asking for your help to upgrade our sign to an electronic marquee. This would allow Pioneer staff to update the sign at a click of a button. Lightning dismissals, upcoming events, school closures, parent reminders, etc. would all be communicated in a timely and useful manner.
Pioneer PTO is a chapter of the Foundation for Douglas County Schools, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax deductible. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the marquee. Any money raised above the $10,000 will go towards the PTO general fund which is used to provide events and support for our school.
