Mission

MISSION STATEMENT

1. Passion. Our mission is to provide a family life in Haiti for children without homes.

2. What we do. We partner with the Haitian community to locate families and give them money for food, clothing, shelter, school, and medical expenses for these children.

3. Bottom-line impact. These children will grow up to be secure, educated, and healthy adults who will be able to support themselves and make responsible choices for themselves and their country.

Background Statement

After the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti thousands of orphaned and abandoned children were added to the existing 380,000 orphans in Haiti. In response the non-profit corporation Partners in Parenting Haiti (PIPH) was formed to create Haiti's first foster care program.

The PIPH program involves subsidizing family income so that families are able to provide the basic needs and health for an additional child. These families were economically self sufficient before taking in an additional child or children from the earthquake.

A child is placed in a loving home and the family structure is strengthened. The program educates children who will be able to support themselves and make critical choices for themselves and the future of Haiti.

PIPH carefully selects the foster families with whom the children will live after listening to the recommendation of community leaders and our Haitian staff. Our staff visits the homes and classrooms monthly to ensure the wellbeing of the children.

PIPH communicates with our supporters by sending our sponsors and donors periodic email newsletter, updates, and pictures of the children.
