Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care (PPHPC) is the region’s leading hospice and palliative care provider for over 40 years. PPHPC pioneered the Colorado Springs hospice movement and has been in the community since 1980, longer than any other hospice in the area. Each year, PPHPC delivers medical care to over 2,000 patients and families facing the challenges of a life-limiting illness. PPHPC is the only nonprofit, community-based hospice care provider in El Paso and Teller Counties. We are also the only provider in these counties with a dedicated in-patient hospice unit.

PPHPC offers an array of complementary therapies alongside a comprehensive medical plan of care. Complementary therapies may include Pet Therapy, Music Therapy, Touch Therapy and Aromatherapy that bring peace, calm and joy to patients.

Testimonials

"Pikes Peak Hospice exceeded my hopes for care and emotional support. I have told so many people about the warmth and care my husband and my family received during this stressful time. I can't tell them enough of my appreciation and gratitude."

Mission

Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care provides compassionate and expert end-of-life care to patients and their families, partners with those who share our vision, and leads change in the community to ensure comfort for all who face serious illness.

Background Statement

Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care is focused on providing specialized end-of-life care for patients and their families.

In the late 1970s, community volunteers Flo Carris and Susan Langstaff saw an opportunity to meet a profound need in the Colorado Springs community for end-of-life care. Joined by many volunteers and financial supporters, Carris and Langstaff established hospice care in El Paso County, Colorado. Through this commitment, terminally ill individuals and their loved ones were ensured a compassionate, comfortable, and dignified life closure.

This vision became Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care.

We believe that hospice care is about living, and that every patient and their family members deserve consistent expert care and compassionate personal attention during this journey.
