Description

Providing free veterans transportation for medical appointments, transportation to and from the veterans art center, transportation to or from the Western Region One Source Center, transportation to food banks and grocery pickup, transportation for field trips and events. We also provide monthly bus passes to veterans in need.

Description

We provide assistance to individual veterans for urgent needs of shelter, utilities, vehicle repair, bus passes, transportation, or unforeseen expenses not provided by other agencies, including food and gas cards. It has been determined in our own programs that gaps in services include emergency shelter, transportation and food. Not all veterans in need register with the VA and other providers are not always able to assist all urgent needs.

Description

At the Veterans Art Center we provide a well stocked music room and recording studio and offer a variety of music lessons at no cost throughout the year. On Veterans Day annually we host and produce a veterans concert offering veterans an opportunity to perform on stage at the Historic Avalon Theater. The concerts are always free to veterans and are open to the public.

The music room at the veterans art center has been open and functional since late 2013 and has been used daily by veterans and family members. Several veterans have received free instruments through the program. The Veterans Day Extravaganza was attended by 500+ in 2018 for at least a portion of the day long event. Our 2018 event included veteran artist demonstrations and veteran entertainers along with a national veterans art exhibition.

Description

Therapeutic art and creative discovery to aid in healing. Open Studio, Art Classes and Workshops, Art and Craft Supplies, Specialty Studios and Equipment for all veterans and military families free of charge for healing and art exploration. An art gallery to assist the artists in displaying and promoting their art work.
