The purposes of the organization are to:
Create opportunities for a variety of healing activities for Veterans, military family members and others suffering from trauma related mental injuries.
Raise awareness of psychological scarring and traumatic brain injuries and benefits of artistic practices in healing.
Provide art and related opportunity to aid in healing of mental health issues through personal exploration and skill building.
Provide resources for those suffering from the hidden wounds of trauma and partner with other agencies and non-profits.
Establish functional creative art studios, galleries and museums for use of veterans, military families and others suffering from trauma related mental health issues.
Operation Revamp (Remembering Every Veteran and Making Progress) was founded in early 2010 out of a recognized need for arts as a healing tool for veterans, active duty and families.
The vision of providing a fully equipped art center for veterans and families became a reality when we were able to move into our current location on the corner of 12th and Ute in 2013.
We have a large group of volunteer instructors in everything from Accordion to Zentangle and offer all classes and workshops free to veterans and their families. Materials and equipment are available for all classes and for open studio.
Since 2013 we have gone through many changes and additions including the construction and equipping of the wood shop, a music room and recording booth, a letterpress print shop and stained glass studio and have added sewing, loom weaving and more.
Our mission to "Help Veterans Heal" is the driving force and has helped many veterans and families as we continue to grow. We offer acupuncture and yoga along with other healing arts as available.
"This program has not only helped me but also has encouraged me to get out and find other vets who need help in coping with service related issues."
"This place has helped me a lot with my mental health issues. I would recommend to all veterans. Great Place."
"Overwhelmingly Awesome! This organization is a great example of a pilot model, that should be implemented in as many Veteran Communities as possible."
"So glad I found this place. I was isolating and my other option was death."
