One Colorado is the state's leading LGBTQIA+ advocacy organization, dedicated to advancing equality, protecting rights, and improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ Coloradans and their families.

We believe equality is more than what is written into law. It's about whether LGBTQIA+ Coloradans feel safe in their communities, whether young people can thrive in their schools, whether families can access affirming healthcare, and whether our voices are heard in decisions that shape our lives.

Through public education, community organizing, leadership development, and advocacy, we work to close the gap between legal rights and lived experiences, building a Colorado where every LGBTQIA+ person can thrive.

Our Key Areas of Work

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT & COMMUNITY ORGANIZING

Lasting change begins with informed, connected, and empowered communities. One Colorado brings LGBTQIA+ Coloradans, families, and allies together through civic education, volunteer opportunities, community organizing, and leadership development.

By helping Coloradans understand the issues affecting their communities and providing opportunities to take meaningful action, we build collective power and strengthen support for LGBTQIA+ equality across our state.

YOUTH & SCHOOLS

Every LGBTQIA+ young person deserves to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and affirming environment.

One Colorado works alongside students, educators, families, and youth-serving organizations to strengthen inclusive school environments and expand support for LGBTQIA+ youth. Through youth leadership opportunities, Gender and Sexuality Alliances (GSAs), educational resources, and training, we help build communities where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

HEALTH EQUITY

Everyone deserves access to healthcare that respects their identity, dignity, and needs.

One Colorado works to reduce barriers to affirming healthcare by educating providers, strengthening community partnerships, and addressing discrimination and stigma within healthcare systems. Our efforts focus on improving access to high-quality, culturally responsive care for LGBTQIA+ Coloradans, including transgender and gender-expansive individuals.

POLICY & PUBLIC EDUCATION

LGBTQIA+ Coloradans deserve to understand their rights and have a voice in the policies affecting their lives.

One Colorado advances public understanding of LGBTQIA+ issues through community education, research, storytelling, and policy analysis. We equip Coloradans with the information and resources they need to engage in important conversations about equality, nondiscrimination, healthcare access, youth and families, and transgender rights.
