Our Neighborhood

While the Northglenn neighborhood is at the heart of our legacy and operations, we have continued to deliver on our mission of connecting community, family, and culture throughout the North Denver metro area. Our original family is in the 8.5 sqiare miles of Northglenn, but our friends, family, coworkers, classmates, and brookclubs have expanded our family to just over the highway to [neighborhood] but also as far away as Boulder.

In fact, our programming expands the map further, bringing in arts performances and experiences from around the nation to our own neighborhood.

Access For All

Beyond providing public and free programming, the NAHF also ensures access for kids of all economic backgrounds to the Northglenn Youth Theatre (NYT).

NYT has been providing young artists the opportunity to perform in professional live theatrical shows since 1994. NYT provides young people in our community the opportunity to explore the world of live performance through professional instruction and hands-on experience. Our programs encourage young folks to expand their theatrical talents and helps cultivate a life-long love for the arts. NYT has received numerous local and national awards, and since its iception has had over 1000 participants on stage.

NYT is committed to providing family-friendly staged entertainment for our community. Each year, NYT mounts six productions performed at the Parsons Theatre, three productions for NYT (12-18 year old performers) and three for NYT Jr. (8-12 year old performers). The cost to participate ranges from $200-$300 per participant.

You can help us cover the cost for a performer by contributing directlu to our endowment here:

Real Neighbors, Real Legacies

"I seriously would not be here without NYT. It taught me so much about myself and life - not just that I love theater, but who I am. NYT has made me the person I am today and I'm going to the college of my dreams."

 - Ali Bongiardina (past participant)

"Northglenn Youth Theatre is full of amazing people doing amazing things and all the while teaching kids to be more than they thought possible.

- Donna Cole (parent of two NYT participants)

"I can't express the magnitude of the impact that NYT has held within my life, and I can confidently say that it shed some golden light on all of my childhood years. The experiences were magical, the friendships meaningful, and the lessons invaluable. Sometimes I can't believe how lucky I was to be part of that special pocket in this community."

 - Hannah Wold (past participant)

Mission

The mission of the Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation is to nurture and maintain the cultural arts and sciences for the benefit of our community. We will accomplish this through the development and support of successful collaborations between arts, businesses, service groups, schools, and artists for optimum utilization of artistic resources.

We strive to provide access for all citizens to the performing and visual arts and sciences, to promote an awareness of the arts and sciences, and to enhance our community image through the development of a cultural climate. In partnership with the City of Northglenn, we sponsor affordable, quality arts and science programs and performances at the Parsons Theatre and in City parks and schools.

Background Statement

The NAHF was formed in 1990 as a fund-raising mechanism to increase cultural arts programming in Northglenn and has since become one of Adams County’s most dynamic arts organizations. 2021 represented the beginning of the next significant chapter in our history with the opening of the new Parsons Theatre. Having outgrown the former facility from 1975, the new state-of-the-art Parsons Theatre is the largest municipal theatre facility of its kind in Adams County. In partnership with the City of Northglenn, we collectively offer a broad range of dynamic arts and culture programming to the greater north metro area primarily at the Parsons Theatre and in city parks. Our success comes through the sustained development of collaborations with the City of Northglenn, arts organizations, businesses, service groups, and schools. The new facility advances these collaborations to an elevated level of quality, artistry, and patron experience. By sharing resources, we are able to present new ideas while maintaining the outstanding programs that the citizens of Adams County have come to expect.
