Mission Statement

To challenge young lives to explore beyond four walls through expeditions and outdoor discovery.

Organization History

Founded by a deeply dedicated group of parents and teachers, the North Routt Community Charter School (NRCCS) is an K-8 public school of choice chartered by the Steamboat Springs School District (SSSD). It serves the northern part of Routt County and the area in and around Steamboat Springs.

Our EL Educational philosophy emphasizes habits of learning and character traits, includes regular fieldwork outside of the classroom and prioritizes outdoor education. Located in Clark, Colorado, the school is chartered by the Steamboat Springs School District and serves students in Routt County, acting as a neighborhood school for children in the North Routt Fire Protection District

Testimonials

We believe we have found the ideal school to help develop our 3 boys. NRCCS strives to create responsible individuals that are best equipped to react to their environment and society through the implementation of Expeditionary Learning and Outdoor Education and Wellness programs, complimenting the focused class sizes. These are just a couple of benefits to go along with their core principles and education excellence.
----Todd, NRCCS parent

Our daughter has attended NRCCS for 5 years. NRCCS staff works endlessly to understand our child, listen to her and celebrate who she is. Even though some of her lessons have been challenging, our child learned how to advocate for herself, push through fear and believe in her unique capabilities.
