At Community First Foundation, we respect the privacy of visitors to our website, ColoradoGives.org, and understand your concerns about privacy on the Internet and take them seriously.
Our goal is to connect you with the charities that you care about in the most convenient, secure manner possible.
We never sell, share, or disclose any personal information about you, other than as described in this policy.
Our merchant bank, FirstBank, and credit card and e-check processing companies, Braintree and Authorize.net, do not have permission to share or use your personal information.
When you make a donation through ColoradoGives.org, you may receive occasional emails from us updating you on charities, noteworthy developments in online philanthropy, and seeking your feedback through surveys. If you do not wish to hear from us, simply use the unsubscribe feature on these emails and/or contact us directly.
Each charity has its own policies regarding privacy of donor information. Please contact the charities you contribute to directly to learn about their privacy policies.
At our site we don't collect personally identifiable information about individuals unless they knowingly provide it to us. So, if you just want to browse and learn about nonprofit services, programs, and benefits, we invite you to do so. If you are a casual, unregistered visitor to our site, we'll recognize the IP address from which you access the Internet (e.g., 123.234.345.456, or earthlink.com) but not your email address or any other personal or system information. Once you provide us with personal or professional information, that data remains confidential and will only be used by Community First Foundation, the charity to which you donated, and the Regional Champion with which the charity is associated, if any. Under these circumstances, Community First Foundation, the charity to which you donate, and the Regional Champion with which the charity is associated, if any, will receive and retain your name, address, email, phone number, date of donation, the amount of the donation, whether the donation is recurring, the frequency of any recurring gifts, any specifications you've made about your gift, and whether you want your gift to be anonymous on the charities' annual reports.
Community First Foundation shares this information with the charities so that they have the opportunity to send you a thank you letter, and with the Regional Champions so that they may help foster other opportunities to help donors support nonprofits in their geographic areas.
If you enter a special code into the appropriate field at checkout, then in addition to sharing information as outlined above, Community First Foundation may also share this information with the organization associated with that special code. Such information may include, but is not necessarily limited to, your name, date of donation, the amount of donation, and the charity to which you donated. Community First Foundation shares such information with the organizations that have been issued special codes by us, so that the organizations may track progress towards goals, calculate employer matches, and other similar purposes.
If, however, you elect to be "completely anonymous," Community First Foundation will still receive and retain that same information, but charities to which you donate through ColoradoGives.org, the Regional Champions, and the organizations associated with any special codes entered at checkout will not. Except for Community First Foundation, the charities to which you donate, the Regional Champions with which the charities are associated, if any, and the organizations associated with any special codes entered at checkout we will not share any detailed information you provide to us with any other organization. We do, however, share data in an aggregated form.
Our website uses Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) encryption. SSL/TLS is a generally accepted protocol that encrypts all communication between your web browser and the site you're viewing to prevent third parties from eavesdropping or tampering with your information. Common browsers, such as Internet Explorer, make it obvious when information is being passed in a secure manner by using the prefix https:// in the URL or displaying a padlock somewhere in the browser window. Our website uses a third party SSL/TLS Certificate provider. The level of encryption is determined by your web browser, your computer's operating system, and the SSL/TLS Certificate.
We then use Braintree, https://www.braintreepayments.com/, and Authorize.net, http://www.authorize.net/, to process payment information. You may learn more about their security practices by visiting their websites.
ColoradoGives.org also uses Google Analytics which is a web analytics service offered by Google (https://www.google.com) that tracks and reports website traffic. We use Google Analytics to allow us to determine things such as the number of unique and returning visitors, how they were referred to our website, the length of time they spend on our website, the number of pages they visit, and other similar information. As part of Google Analytics, we have also implemented the Google Analytics Advertising Feature of Demographic and Interest Reporting which enables Google Analytics to collect data about our traffic via Google advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers in addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation. This allows us to get a sense of the gender, age, and interests of people visiting the site. Visitors can edit their inferred demographic categories for websites or opt-out of Google Analytics Advertising Features by visiting Ad Settings, Ad Settings for mobile apps, or any other available means (for example, NAI's consumer opt-out or Google Analytics' currently available opt-outs for the web).
We will not facilitate the merging of personally-identifiable information with non-personally identifiable information collected through any Google advertising product or feature unless we have robust notice of, and the user's prior affirmative (i.e., opt-in) consent to, that merger.
You may learn more about Google Analytics security by visiting its website.
This website has links to other websites. We are not responsible for, nor do we have any control over, the privacy practice or the content of such other websites, and we encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of those entities.
We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.
If you have questions or concerns about our privacy policies or data processing, please contact us at the address displayed above.
We may update our information collection and processing practices or our privacy policies from time to time. When we change such practices or policies in a material way, we will revise this statement accordingly and would encourage you to revisit this page from time to time to learn about any such changes.
