Mission

The mission of NAMI Arapahoe/Douglas Counties is to provide education, support, and advocacy for people whose lives are impacted by mental illness.

Background Statement

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) was founded in 1979. NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

NAMI promotes its mission throughout the United States by providing strategic direction to the entire organization, including support to NAMI's state and local community affiliate organizations such as ours in Arapahoe and Douglas Counties, which was founded more than 24 years ago.
