Mission

Connecting our community to the land, the sources of our food and to nature by providing access to sustainable agriculture, farm education, and humane dairy production.

Background Statement

Mountain Flower Goat Dairy (MFGD) was founded in 2012 on land with a rich agricultural history. The Long family has been farming the 25 acre property near downtown Boulder for three generations. Today, the land is home to three organizations: Long's Gardens (the original farm), Growing Gardens (a nonprofit that connects our community to growing food) and MFGD. The three organizations collaborate to ensure responsible stewardship of the land and connections to the community.

In the years since our founding, MFGD has blossomed into a full farm operation with a diverse suite of educational offerings. Each year, around 70 volunteers contribute their time and skills to MFGD while learning about sustainable agriculture and goat husbandry. We offer robust on-site education programs, host free public events, run a 9-week summer camp with an associated youth leadership program, and conduct educational outreach to diverse populations in Boulder County.
