Monarch Montessori of Denver Charter

A nonprofit organization

Monarch Montessori of Denver Charter serves a diverse student body from Green Valley Ranch, Montbello, and Stapleton. Monarch is committed to customizing the academic environment to meet the needs of individual learners and build bridges between neighborhoods.

Mission

Our mission is to provide a challenging academic program, based on the educational philosophy of Dr. Montessori. This method will support our students as they become "engaged learners today" and the "leaders of tomorrow."

Background Statement

Monarch Montessori of Denver Charter was founded as a natural extension of the Monarch Montessori First Steps pre-school program. The Charter School welcomed its first kindergarten and lower elementary students during the 2012-2013 school year. The 2013-2014 school year showed tremendous enrollment growth and relocation to the current facility. In 2014-2015, Monarch stabilized its program and showed strong gains for reading across all grades and especially the English Language Learners.

In 2015-2016 we achieved the goal of operating a full K-5 elementary. Monarch became a Title I designated school for serving a high percentage of at-risk students. We were excited to expand our outdoor space with community gardens and additional play areas/structures that will also serve the community dstarting the 2018-19 school year.

We are continuing to find ways to better serve ALL students through the only public Montessori school in the Montbello area during the 2018-2019 school year.
