Boston Marathon!!

We are just 4 weeks away from the Boston Marathon and have reached another milestone in fundraising. $4,000 - WOW! I am humbled by the continual support and request to donate. As such, I will keep this page live through the running of the Boston marathon and continue to accept all donations for Special Olympics Colorado. Hello friends and colleagues. I'm writing to ask you to join me on my journey to the Boston Marathon. It all started in 2004 when I was living in Boston and decided to train for my very first road race ever (the NYC marathon). Thus, my love for marathon running was born, and 12 years later I'm finally returning to fulfill my lifelong dream of running Boston! Woohoo!

The countless miles, hours, thoughts, and ideas that were logged along the way made me realize how lucky I am to have the opportunity to be active through sport. It fueled my desire to give that same opportunity back. Two years ago I joined the Special Olympics Colorado Board to do just that. Little did I know that these athletes would be the ones to change my life.

Sports is our common language. It's the connection that makes us realize we are more alike than different, and that we all have talents to contribute. Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) is an organization that provides year-round athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, for FREE. This is why I'm teaming up to fund-raise for Special Olympics on the road to Boston.

On April 18th, I will officially be lacing up my sneakers for the historic 26.2 mile Boston Marathon. Please consider joining me in my goal to raise $3,000 for SOCO. From donating $1/mile ($26.20) to anything in between, every dollar helps support teamwork, acceptance, respect, and confidence for these deserving athletes and will be the very values that will also carry me along this run.

Thank you in advance for your support! For those of you who have a Special Olympian in your life, please be sure to let me know so I can have them run with me (by writing their name in marker on my arms and legs). I'll need all the energy I can get.
