Mission Statement

ACE's mission is to provide enlightening and entertaining arts, cultural, and educational programs for the Jewish community and the community at large.

Organization History

Since 1982, ACE, formally known as Menorah, has been offering classes, cultural events and programs that are open to the entire community. Since 2000, ACE has operated as an independent department within the Boulder JCC, with a focus on cultural arts offerings and adult educational programs.
We remain the only Jewish cultural arts organization in Boulder, and the only one serving the rapidly expanding senior demographic.

Testimonials

"The program you planned and implemented so beautifully was an incredible success. Visiting with Marlyn and Martin was a very special privilege. Already knew that they are such lovely people and such a constant at the JCC programs, but it was an eye opener to be in their home and really get to see Marlyn's creativity. I told her she truly was a Blythe Spirit in every way, the grown up Slice in Wonderland leading down the Rabbit Hole to see how she views the world through her amazing artwork.Thank you for bringing the program to us and of course you know, this has to happen again and probably, again. Marlyn is a wonderful talent which should be exposed to our community. And Martin is a delightful, joyous, and knowledgeable man. This event was an Enormous success. Warm regards,Barb"

"Congratulations on the klezmer/Chinese food event. It was amazing! The number of people, the bands and singers, the strong community feeling, the great venue - all were just great! -Stephanie"

"Thank you Kathryn for your kind words regarding Klezmania! As well for all you did to support this being an event that would reach out in such an inclusive way to our greater community. That was reflected in all the guest talent we were able to include in the evening, in bringing in folks like Biz to lead Israeli dancing, in including the Moishe House band Hadgaba in the programming and more... while all this collaboration in program created more moving parts (ie: work!) for me to weave into the production, it was always done in pleasure, and I think the results spoke for themselves. - Sheldon Sands"

"Wow! I'm on the bus to Denver to meet friends for some "culture" and thought I'd glance at the ACE site. I want to do it all! You've created an astonishingly alluring lineup of events to enrich all of us in Boulder. Thank you! Sheila Malcolm

"What a tremendous 10 days-fabulous selections! Great trailer! Good feelings all around. A good mix of intellectual and emotional contents. I'm going to miss seeing so many friends and the large sense of community. From and audience perspective, it was smooth sailing! A truly remarkable festival-we're so lucky to have you!" Nicky Wolman

"What you tap into and offer us, is usually wide ranging and inspired.
The price is affordable, and no one ever seems to be turned away for lack of funds. I hope you will enjoy this work for a long time coming." Jude Blitz

"We continue to be impressed and excited with the cultural Jewish programming offered at the Boulder JCC. The width and breadth of the programming developed over the last 10 years have surpassed anything we have been exposed to in larger cities. We have learned so much about Jewish heritage through the wonderful lectures and movies presented by Menorah." Steve and Sandy Friedman

"We moved to Colorado in 2004. Ever since Menorah's program have been one of the principal means of staying tied to our Jewish heritage and culture. We happily drive the 20+ miles from our home in the mountains to attend as many of the events as we can. Not only are they fun, but most are intellectually stimulating. Our attendance has allowed us to meet some very nice people and to stay tied in to Boulder's Jewish community." Martin and Marlyn Cheshes

Survey responses to the quality of ACE programs in general and the Boulder Jewish Film Festival in specific continue to rank us at more than 9 out of 10.
