Mission

Minds Matter Colorado connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.

Background Statement

History

Minds Matter, Inc. (national organization) was founded in 1991 to help underprivileged high school students gain acceptance to top-tier summer college programs and four-year universities.

Minds Matter has expanded to thirteen cities/states, including Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Colorado, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Twin Cities, and Washington DC.

The 2022-2023 school year marks the beginning of the 19th year for Minds Matter Colorado (MMCO). The Colorado chapter, founded in 2004, is the culmination of a grass-roots effort to level the educational opportunities for disadvantaged students.
