Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats

A nonprofit organization

Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats (LFFAC) is a local group that feeds feral, community cats and uses the humane practice of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and Colony Management to support healthy, community cat colonies in the Longmont area.

In addition to TNR, LFFAC provides TNR assistance and education to individuals who are caring for community cats to provide optimal care for the cats while minimizing the colony’s impact on neighbors and the environment. LFFAC welcomes calls from those who are seeking help to discourage cats from taking up residence in their yards and from caregivers who want to encourage cats to stay closer to home.

Mission

To improve the lives of community cats and the people who care for them in Longmont and the surrounding area through our comprehensive programs: TNR, Cat Socialization, Colony Management, Foster, Adoption, and Education.

Background Statement

Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats (LFFAC) began as an all-volunteer group of people who had a passion for helping domesticated, under-socialized cats living the wild life. In 2011, the feeders from three colonies joined efforts by providing food and water, shelter, and needed veterinary care for the colony cats. Nonprofit 501(c)(3) status was granted 2013. A leased shelter facility was added in 2018 under our existing PACFA Rescue license, which was upgraded to a PACFA Shelter license in 2020. The shelter has allowed LFFAC to grow in program reach, especially as it relates to fostering. A cat socialization program was initiated in 2021, which joins our TNR, foster, adoption, colony management, and education programs as the priorities.
