David Jaramillo was a man with a passion for ballet and opera. He worked as an employee of the Denver Theatrical Stage Employees Union for his entire life and in the last 30 years worked as property master for Colorado Ballet. His passion for the arts and life was contagious and he deeply touched many of the dancers he worked with. The David Jaramillo Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student based on merit and passion. Dancers must complete an essay as to why they love dance and how it has changed their life. Dancers also will participate in a judged master class. An impartial jury will determine the awardee of the scholarship which will cover dance related fees.
The program is new and will be awarded in the spring of 2018
