Summit County pets need your help! Since 1990, LAPS has helped pets and their owners with spay/neuter programs and low income members of our community with financial assistance for unexpected veterinary bills. We subsidize all spay/neuter costs for our local Animal Shelter for adoptee pets.
The prevention of local pet overpopulation through spay/neuter awareness and funding. And, to provide assistance with veterinary expenses to low-income residents of Summit County.
In 1990, then Summit County Animal Shelter Manager Nancy Ring decided that Summit County, CO needed a non-profit devoted to the welfare of pets. She wanted to promote the spaying and neutering of pets, but also wanted to be able to help people who could not afford their veterinary bills. For over 30 years LAPS has helped thousands of pets in our community.
