Immigrant Legal Center of Boulder County

A nonprofit organization

Attacks on Immigrants since the age of Trump make licensed, affordable immigration legal assistance more important than ever. Venezuelans who came to the U.S. last holiday season were treated like pawns. Please help us represent them in applying for newly-authorized Temporary Protected Status.

Testimonials

MESSAGE FROM THE IMMIGRANT LEGAL CENTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
We are proud to serve on the Immigrant Legal Center board and grateful for your support. Our focus is on Boulder County, but our clients come from across the State of Colorado. The Legal Center's staff is devoted to its cause, highly capable, and dedicated to providing affordable immigration-related legal assistance. Over our 18 year history the Center has transformed 767 undocumented Coloradans into Lawful Permanent Residents, assisted victims of crime including those fleeing war and famine, and helped community members take that final step to become U.S. citizens. Annually, the Legal Center helps more than 500 DACA recipients maintain their status and fight for a more permanent solution. As board members we are committed to helping ILCBC and its clients, and we hope you will join us. Your donation makes all the difference!

Laurel and her team at the Immigrant Legal Center worked with tenacity, compassion, and honesty to help me stay in the USA with my husband and my baby son. We are truly moved by the passion Laurel has for bringing possitive growth into her community, and her country. We are grateful that our family is together and surrounded with opportunities for success, because of her hard work to help me obtain permanent residence. Thank you to the entire Immigrant Legal Center of Boulder County!

Laurel Herndon is an attorney with a very kind heart and she explains everything you need to know very clearly before you start the filing process. The staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming, and the service is very reasonable and extremely affordable for anyone. Mission

The Mission of the Immigrant Legal Center of Boulder County is to provide reliable and affordable legal services for the immigrant community, educate immigrants about U.S. law, inform the general public about the legal difficulties encountered by immigrants to this country, and advocate for a fair U.S. immigration system.

Background Statement

The Immigrant Legal Center of Boulder County (ILCBC) is a non-profit law firm providing consultations and representation on immigration matters, but we are much more than that. ILCBC comes out of the immigrant rights struggle which appeared on its way to victory before 9/11, a horrendous event that transformed immigrants into scapegoats. ILCBC helped bring immigrants out of the shadows, serving nearly 1,000 unique immigrant clients each year.

Our Legal Center is authorized to employ both Attorneys and specially-trained Accredited Legal Representatives. Belen and Maria, our two Accredited Legal Representatives were born in Mexico, are native-Spanish-speakers and provide legal services for 95% of our clients who are also first-language Spanish-speakers. More than 90% of our clients are low-income to extremely-low income; we serve clients of all ages and our client base includes a growing number of same-sex couples and transgender individuals.
