As a part of ICAST's Utility Demand Side Management, or DSM program, we help utilities throughout the U.S. meet their DSM goals by providing energy efficiency upgrades to low-income multifamily properties. ICAST's DSM program serves the entire multifamily property, including in-unit residential, individual or master-metered, and common-area commercial meters. As part of our one-stop-shop service, ICAST helps our multifamily clients with all aspects of the project, from assessment, to design, to construction, to financing, and measuring and verification. We focus on deep energy efficiency upgrades that provide well over 20% savings per building.
In addition to energy efficiency as part of our comprehensive service, ICAST provides demand response, solar, and other distributed energy resource services to our multifamily customers. We offer Utility clients a cost-effective, custom, 'Pay for Performance' plan that covers ICAST fees as the multifamily program implementer. This program helps utilities meet their cost-effectiveness test while achieving their DSM program goals.
To date, through its DSM programming, ICAST has expanded into several states (Colorado, Utah, Missouri, New Mexico, California, Arizona).
We have:
-Generated over 30,000 multifamily households
-Invested over $27 million into local communities
-Saved $79 million in lifetime utility costs
-Created over 569 jobs
-Reduced lifetime carbon emissions by over 490,000 tons.

Environment
ICAST provides solar services to multifamily properties, partnering with property owners and/or managers to provide on-site portfolio assessment, evaluation of battery storage and utility options, custom tailored solar financing, and full service project management and installation. ICAST also offers workforce development and tenant engagement programs. Additionally, ICAST is implementing a shared solar program with utilities across the nation.
Environment
The U.S. Department of Energy's Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides grants to states, territories, and some Indian tribes to help improve the energy efficiency of low-income homes. ICAST acts as a "WAP" program implementer, providing high quality and cost-effective weatherization services to income qualified multifamily households. ICAST educates multifamily owners about the benefits of WAP and recruits them to install energy and weatherization upgrades on their properties to reduce utility costs and improve the comfort, health, and safety of low-income families, seniors and disabled tenants.
Education
Project GC2 provides disadvantaged individuals with hands-on training to learn green building skills, helping them gain experience to enter the workforce and earn a higher wage. We partner with organizations such as YouthBuild, whose programs recruit disconnected youth to the program. Our collaborative network also includes local governments, property owners, utilities, construction contractors, multifamily property owners, and financial institutions. This network helps generate ICAST's pipeline of multifamily projects which create on-site work opportunities for program participants.
