Mission Statement

The mission of Humanex Foundation is threefold; to award the Alex C. Teves Memorial Scholarship, in collaboration with the ACT-Foundation, to Humanex Academy students who present a financial need, invest in Professional Development opportunities for Humanex staff members, and to enhance the Technology Program for both in person and remote learning environments.

Organization History

Humanex Foundation was incorporated on February 8, 2018 and gained 501(c)(3) status in September 2018. Our advisory Board of Directors meet once a monthly to discuss, plan, and implement fundraising ideas and events to help the Foundation reach and exceed our three main mission goals.

"Without the support of the Humanex Foundation (the Alex c. Teves Memorial Scholarships), many students at Humanex Academy would not be able to attend any school which meets their specific needs. Students at Humanex Academy enroll at Humanex because they have to in order to get an education, not because the want to go to a private school. The students at the Academy cannot thrive in large public schools because of their significant emotional needs. Humanex Foundation gives these students financial support to be able to afford very small class sizes, qualified teachers, in a very specialized environment."
C. Okizaki, CFO of Humanex Academy

"The Humanex Foundation is an essential partnership for Humanex Academy that provides staff with professional learning opportunities beyond our planned professional development activities. Through the Foundation, we have been able to send teachers to conferences such as Courage to Risk as well as provide stipends for online training in mindfulness and other relevant topics. The support from the Foundation allows for our staff to continue their personal professional growth, which leads to more creative and inspired experiences in the classroom for our unique student population as well as increased student growth and achievement. "
K. Cahill, Principal of Humanex Academy
