Housing Resources of Western Colorado

Housing Resources of Western Colorado celebrated our 45th birthday this year! Since our founding we have expanded our services and operations to cover 16 counties on Colorado's Western Slope. Services include weatherization, home rehabilitation and financing, housing counselling and education, community building & engagement and advocacy. In Mesa County we also provide affordable rental units and a self-help home building program. We look forward to expanding our home building and housing development activities into Montrose County shortly.

Since 2016 our housing counselling and education team has counselled more than 1,200 households and educated around 2,800. These services are provided through one-on-one counselling sessions and group classes. Areas of focus include rental counselling, financial coaching, homebuyer education, pre-purchase counselling, foreclosure and eviction prevention.

Our weatherization program, which provides cost effective, energy efficient home improvements to homeowners and renters throughout western Colorado has served over 7000 households. This free service helps to reduce energy bills, carbon footprint and improves the home's comfort making it more affordable and healthy for residents to remain in their homes.
