Hillside School is a leader in the development of innovative teaching strategies for students with learning differences and serves as a community resource about learning and the well-being of children.
Using evidence-based practices, Hillside provides specialized instruction enabling students with learning differences, such as dyslexia, to reach their academic potential and become capable and confident learners.
The school serves students in first through ninth grade and features:
classes of four students,
a half-day program using multi-sensory approaches,
individualized instruction where students advance at their own pace.
While students make significant academic gains, the development of their confidence and self-esteem makes the most lasting impact, rekindling their love of learning.
Hillside students experience an average of 1 1/2 years growth in reading, writing and math based on standardized pre- and post-assessment.
