Activities and Athletics

One of our most successful programs at HOPE, which directly supports our academic program, is our athletics and activities program. Through the years HOPE has found that activities and athletics improve kids' academic performance and their likelihood to stay with HOPE. For many of HOPE's at-risk student population, these are events they wouldn't have the opportunity to participate in otherwise. In fact, HOPE underwrites the costs for most of these programs, making them very affordable to our families.

Evidence of Program's Success

Nearly all of HOPE's 2,000 students participated in a HOPE activity or sporting event during the 2018/2019 school year. Our program continues to grow. In surveys done with students and families, they point to the activities and athletics program for helping create a sense of community. Our students take pride in participating in our activities, and their performance, especially in sports, continues to improve.
