HOPE's athletics and activities program creates opportunities for HOPE's 2,000 students to participate in competitive athletics, clubs, arts, and other extracurricular activities. Participation in these programs improves student academic performance and increases the likelihood a student will stay with HOPE. With a high percentage of students from low-income households, HOPE financially underwrites most of these programs to ensure as many students as possible can participate.
Surveys of students and families show the activities and athletics program helps create a sense of community. Students take pride in participating in activities, and interest and offerings continue to grow.
