Description

Every student, regardless of where they live or how they learn, deserves to thrive and lead his or her best life. Public education fuels not only the aspirations of students, but also provides the direct link between an educated populace and a vital economy.

The Promise of Colorado campaign provides Coloradans with the tools to advocate for Colorado's public schools. Colorado has one of the fastest growing economies in the country, yet we are not adequately or equitably funding education.

There are real consequences to underfunding our schools that include:
students losing out on educational opportunities,
schools unable to attract and retain qualified teachers, and
growing inequities across school districts.
Colorado's public schools have experienced a significant decline in their share of the state budget. Unless we turn that trend around, a generation of children will face limits in reaching their potential, and our state's future prospects will be limited as well.

Please join the Colorado Education Network in keeping "The Promise of Colorado."

The Colorado Education Network is a coalition of individuals and organizations who support public education and that are committed to finding common ground in ensuring it is available to all.

Description

Each year, Great Ed empowers thousands of its supporters to contact and build relationships with their legislators, supporting efforts to maximize investment in education in the short-term, as well as to create a long-term plan to provide adequate school funding that enables schools and teachers to meet the unique learning needs of each student. Great Ed meets its supporters where they are on the advocacy spectrum -- from being ready to sign an online petition to traveling to the Capitol to meet with their legislators.

Evidence of Program's Success

Hundreds of individuals who have never engaged in advocacy have found their voice through Great Ed, whether by telling their stories in emails or on a petition, or by showing up at the Capitol and pulling their legislators off the floor to convey the urgency of doing right by kids immediately.
